Play Tennis
DTC has a many teams in a variety of different competitions, from adult to junior competitive play. The club covers different standards of competition in both Juniors and Seniors to fit all players in a team that will best suit their standard.
Junior Competition
Junior Competition is available in Open Rubbers, Boys/Girls/Open - Singles/Doubles, Junior Open Doubles for Under 14 and Junior Development Competition for under 12 - Doubles only. (Using lower compression balls).
There are two seasons
Winter (April to August) with nominations December to early February
Summer (October to March) with nominations July to August
Tennis Victoria Pennant
Tennis Victoria Pennant is Australia’s largest inter-club league.
Pennant facilitates a high-level competition in a team environment. It’s competitive singles and doubles matches for grassroots, aspirational and elite players. With 400 teams across Victoria, 140 clubs and over 3000 players involved every season at a variety of playing standards, there is something for all competitive players in Melbourne.
Midweek Ladies Competition
Competition is held on Tuesday (MEMRLTA), Wednesday (EDWTA) and Thursday (WDTA) mornings.
MEMRLTA seasons are September–March and April–August. EDWTA & WDTA seasons are February–June and July–November.
Social play is held Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
Everyone is welcome in what is a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Night Tennis Competition
Doncaster Tennis Club is a member of Blackburn & District Night Tennis Association which provides competition at night for players located in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. There are approx 340 teams comprising some 2,500 players in the competition.
Competition is held Monday to Thursday nights in “Open” format plus a ladies only competition on Monday nights.
Doncaster currently has teams playing on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Open Tennis Competition
Doncaster fields teams in Eastern Region Tennis (ERT) and Waverley Tennis competitions, in a variety of formats & grades.
There are 2 seasons:
Winter: April to August (nominations for teams are due in February)
Summer: October to March (nominations for teams are due in July)
